The immigration issue is costing the American taxpayer billions of dollars in social services such as free education, free medical care, financial assistance, costs of incarceration of illegals convicted of crimes, hospitals unable to meet costs because our government forces them to give free care to illegals and approximately thirty billion dollars being sent to Mexico every year by illegals. Another problem is the fact that we do not know how many people affiliated with terrorist organizations are crossing our border every week. These problems are great, but there is another which can be even more destructive. It is long term and can destroy the foundation of any society. It is a lack of respect for the law. When we choose to not enforce our laws we automatically create a lack of respect for the law which eventually leads to chaos and anarchy and eventually a corrupt, crumbling society. It is already happening and it needs to be stopped now. It can be done. Our border can be made secure. We should immediately stop doing anything which encourages or rewards people who choose to break our laws. I am opposed to giving social security benefits and other social services to illegal aliens.Doing so shows a lack of respect for our laws. I am opposed to amnesty. Legal controlled immigration can be a blessing for all. It can be done, so lets do it right!

This Department needs much improvement. We need to improve our communications process by establishing cooperation between all agencies, a clearly defined chain of command and eliminating all red tape problems which hinder the process. We must hire qualified people and pay wages to attract them, and hire enough people to do the job. We must focus on port security, water and power plant security, airport and border security.

Maintain a strong defense.Maintain adequate troop levels so we don't have to use our reservists unless absolutely necessary. Provide the very best equipment and support for our troops. I am in favor of putting troops along our border to maintain security.

We need to hire more people to handle individual cases. We need to improve and make available good healthcare to all veterans.

Terrorists use our own laws against us. We need to examine these laws and change them. It is time to get serious about our welfare and safety.

I think life is sacred and I am pro-life. I think adoption is a wonderful alternative. I think marriage is a sacred union between one man and one woman. I oppose embryonic stem cell research and want more research into umbilical cord possibilities. I oppose cloning of any kind.

The Medicare payments to Doctors are so low many Doctors cannot afford to take Medicare patients. This needs to be corrected. We need to stop wasting money in the wrong places and focus on affordable healthcare for all Americans. It can be done. It will take time and research but it can be done. This is important.

I am for school choice. We need to raise our educational standards and teach discipline in our public schools. The students self esteem will improve only when they know they have learned the subjects.

We need a balanced budget. How do we get it? Cut wasteful spending and improve government efficiency. Get a line item veto so we can eliminate pork barrel projects which are attached to many important bills. Get input from qualified people who are not politicians, as to how we can eliminate unnecessary spending. Eliminate unnecessary spending based solely on political expediency.

We need to overhaul the tax code. We need to study the feasibility of a flat tax or a consumption based tax and do away with the alternative minimum tax. We need to cut unnecessary spending which would then help us lower taxes.

We need to correct the trade imbalance and enforce our trade agreements. It won't change until we take the initiative.

America was once a strong manufacturing country. We need to work to bring manufacturing back to our country so we don't have to depend on other countries. We need to bring our jobs back to America. We need to support small business by eliminating unnecessary red tape, paper work and by reducing the tax load. We need to focus on eliminating greed which is the enemy of free enterprise. We need to keep middle class America strong.

We must remember our government is a government of the people, not a government of the judges. Judicial arrogance is a threat to our democratic form of government if not controlled. I think most judges are good, but we need to be concerned about judicial decisions made which were contrary to the majority vote of the people. I disagree with the supreme court decision concerning eminent domain. I think property rights should be restored to the people. The executive and judicial branches were not established to override the will of the people. I oppose our courts being influenced by decisions made by foreign courts. I oppose our government deferring to or giving precedence to international courts over decisions made by our courts. We must guard our freedoms or we will lose them.

The Iraq war is a puzzle to many people. The questions are why are we there and what are we achieving. It is essential that we support our troops while they are there. I think it would be good to have a stable friendly democratic government in Iraq and hopefully that can be achieved. I think we should assess the situation periodically to see if progress is being made so we don't waste billions of dollars and precious lives on a lost cause. Optimistically, I hope our goal there can be achieved because it would be good for America to have a friendly ally in that area and it would be good for the Iraqi people to have their own stable government. The ultimate responsibility rests with the Iraqi people to cooperate with each other and to govern their country themselves.

I oppose any union between Mexico the United States and Canada because this could be the first step to us losing our sovereignty as a nation.
